Champagne Golf Resort
Par 72 / 6694 M

Set high amongst the picturesque peak of the Central Drakensberg lies the Champagne Sports Resort Golf Course. Absolutely littered with breathtakingly beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the Cathkin and Champagne peaks in particular, it comes as no surprise that it is consistently rated among the Top 30 most beautiful courses South Africa. Champagne has sculpted a true championship course out of the rolling landscape and the eighteen holes have been magnificently woven together with immaculate kikuyu fairways, bentgrass greens, devastatingly well placed bunkers (84 of them!) and water hazards to provoke a true challenge. The generous fairways are bordered by
light rough but badly wayward shots will be punished. The signature hole belongs to the 1st - a sheer brute force affair with the tee-off standing higher than the clubhouse and at 605m in length, the longest hole in the country, and takes you across a ravine to boot!

Umhali Country Club & Golf Estate
Par 72 / 5948 M

A true gem of the Dolphin Coast, Umhlali Country Club is a tropical oasis with magnificent palm lined fairways, seven feature water holes and the greenest of grass coating it all year round. Just a 15 minute drive from King Shaka Airport and North of Durban’s busy city Umhlali is widely renown as a sporting haven for enthusiast’s that need a break from the city-life but don’t necessarily want to drive for hours on end.
The eighteen-hole course was designed by Peter Matkovich and is characteristically varied, providing a fantastic golfing test over the
relatively short distance. Indigenous flora and fauna are abundant here too and the course has simply been sculpted around the inherent beauty
of the land. To the east lies the Indian Ocean and to the West, the rolling hills. The Club also features five tennis courts, two squash courts, a bowls pavilion, two greens, a bridge club and the warmest hospitality. The club openly welcomes visitors whom are please requested to book
ahead of time as Umhlali hosts thousands of visitors every year.

Mount Edgecombe Golf
Par 72 / 6243 M

Mount Edgecombe Country Club has two 18-hole championship courses, and the older Course One was upgraded about 20 years ago when the Mount Edgecombe residential estate was initially developed. Mount Edgecombe Course One is a parkland layout, and this extremely attractive golf course has hosted numerous amateur as well as professional tournaments and will therefore test any level of golfer. With four sets of tees, the course is playable by golfers of any handicap. Three Holes are worthy of special mention as they constitute No.1's "Amen Corner" between the 14th and 16th holes. The first one of these is a par five where water protects the green then it's followed by a par
three that requires a full carry across more water. Completing this trio of testing holes, the 16th is a tough two-shotter where the tee shot has to avoid a small dam en route to the green.

Durban County Club
Par 72 / 6159 M

You know you're in for a golfing treat when your golf course gets featured on top 100 lists of the world's finest golf layouts for many years. Add to this the distinction of possessing the greatest third hole in the world, and the Durban Country Club becomes deserving of every bit of fame and attention that has come its way. It comes as no surprise then that it has been the chosen venue for the SA Open Championships 14 times! The rare combination of scenic surrounds with a challenging course make the golfing experience at Durban Country Club uniquely memorable. The course is extremely demanding and requires you to play well in order to score well. The renowned par 5 third hole has a truly magnificent aura, following a narrow and undulating valley to
a challenging target. The first five holes provide a testing challenge, leaving very little margin for error on the narrow, bush-lined fairways. The elevated tees and steep slopes combine with the strong onshore winds blowing through the valley to make it a course that is often enjoyed but seldom mastered.
